Buf Nyarusiza Lot 12 is a remarkable coffee from Rwanda’s Southern Province, produced by Buf Café—founded by Epiphanie Mukashyaka after the 1994 genocide. Despite immense hardship, Epiphanie rebuilt her family’s farm and established Buf Café in 2003, supported by the PEARL project and Rwandan Development Bank.

This initiative helped shift Rwanda’s coffee sector from volume to quality. Today, Buf operates four washing stations, including Nyarusiza, and sources cherries from nearly 7,000 smallholder farmers. This lot represents the resilience of a community and a commitment to producing exceptional specialty coffee with a story rooted in strength, transformation, and hope.
